Translation:
"Hello, my name is Roland Emerson, Founder of the Deaf and
Deaf-Blind Committee on Human Rights (DDBCHR). I can't go to the
march on August 30th because I've been sick with lung cancer. The
DDBCHR is sending a group to New York City to demand our economic
human rights. For example, deaf people have the right to communicate
if they go to the doctor or hospital, they must provide an interpreter
under the 'Americans with Disabilities Act'. And, most deaf people
can't afford basic needs like health care, they only earn a small
income and can't meet their budgets every month. March For Our Lives;
Stop The War At Home!"

Ethel
Long-Scott of the Women's Economic Agenda Project of San Francisco
A
12 member delegation traveled 3,000 miles from the California Poor
People's Economic Human Rights Campaign. We need to unite and raise
voices for the March For Our Lives. We are here to protest the neverending
war on the poor and working class. Healthcare is a human right and
that is why we are marching today.
Larry
Bressler of Organize Ohio!

We have to collaborte and work together. We cannot remain isolated
if we want to win economic change.
Noelle
Damico a Long Island minister of the United Church of Christ and
the catalyst for the School of Theology
Every
person is a child of God created in God's image and entitled to
a slice in the resources that God has provided for our common well
being. Marching for Economic Human Rights is an action of working
with God's intention that all people can thrive.
Michael
Terry a Doctor for La Clinica de la Raza, a community health provider
in Oakland California and a member of the People's Health Movement
Healthcare
is a Human Right. Everyday I see people who are sick or dying because
they don't have Healthcare. A National healthcare system is cheaper
and can provide a higher level of quality than our current system.
People who are in charge are too dedicated to making a profit than
to provide healthcare to our people.
Rachel
Hamilton of Loring Nicollet Alternative School in Minneapolis MN
We are here to represent the youth of Minneapolis. We are against
the Bush Adminstration. We believe in Economic Human Rights For All.
That is why we are marching.
David
from Rochester Poor People United
Folks from Rochester are here because somebody has to say something
about the situation that is happening not only locally but nationally.
The poor can't afford to be silenced now or ever.
Sandy
Perry of CHAM in San Jose Cal.
We came here for Economic Human Rights. In San Jose we don't have
housing. We don't have Healthcare. We don't have Living Wage Jobs.
Education is key. That is why we are marching today.
