Send Out False Information to Media Regarding
Poor
People's March on August 30th
New
York (July 30) - The Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign
was alerted by a member of the media that press releases were sent
out by the New York Police Department's Office of Information to
a number of media outlets giving false information regarding their
rally and march on August 30th. The information the police sent
out led the press to believe that the Poor People's Campaign was
joining the nine celebrities at the Hip Hop Action Network Rally
instead of having their own March and rally at 4pm from the United
Nations later that same day.
The
Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign, the group responsible
for the largest march four years ago at the Republican National
Convention in Philadelphia, has held press conference after press
conference asserting that we will not be made to disappear by celebrities
or by the NYPD.
People
are dying in the war at home from not having healthcare, housing,
food and the other basic necessities of life. We will march WITH
OR WITHOUT A PERMIT on August 30th at 4pm from in front of the United
Nations through Times Square to the front doors of the Republican
National Convention at Madison Square Garden.
The
Poor from across America will March on August 30th.
