National Spokesperson of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign to Speak at Juneteenth Celebration:
"Cabrini-Green is Here to Stay"

Cheri Honkala, National Spokesperson of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign will be speaking at the protest of the Chicago Housing Authority's proposal to demolish public housing and the Chicago Public Schools' proposed closure of schools in their communities.

The Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign is dedicated to securing human rights to food, housing, health care and education.


"This movement is committed to ensuring the human rights of the public housing tenants in Chicago, and as we organize for opening day of the Republican National Convention we will bring the world's attention to forced evictions taking place in the United States of America. We will stand by the tenants in Cabrini-Green, go to jail if necessary, and march with them to ensure that they do not lose their housing."
