Members
of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign were greeted
by New Jersey City and State Police at 5am in the morning when
they arrived at the original lot at 420 Grand St. We then traveled
to the new location and got to work are setting up yet again
our Bushville.
We set up under the underpass at Pacific
and Grand St. on a lot that we were told was public land.
With the State Police watching we spent the morning setting
up tents and making more signs.
Shortly
before 11am the State Police surrounded the lot claiming that
it was not public property and demanded that we immediately
leave.
While
some looked for a new lot others flyered at the Jersey City
Welfare office and collected documentation for the Faces
of the Fallen.
The
Bushville has been set up again at the intersection of Bright
St. and Freemont in Jersey City, NJ. Please check back soon
