"Mississippi to Washington"

Mississippi to Washington
by Adul Raheem Nadir
New Jerusalem Now Recovery House

We are marching, we are marching
marching to the beat of the drummer
the beat of homelessness, beat of
health care, the beat of national
crisis.

Kensington Welfare Rights Union
take an invent of what they're doing
continues standing at the forefront
of fight for economic human rights

Our government take no responsibility
for the poor, healthcare, living wage
and much, much, more.

The march start with a vision, a plan,
Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign.

Open your eyes, no time to
sleep, majority of 80 million
poor people are our children
who are in the street.

Come join us, the Poor People's March
from Mississippi to Washington
DC is where we'll step

come by bus, car, plane
come by water, or come by land
be part of the master plan

Raise your voices and take that
stand, the Mule Train was part
of a national Poor People's Campaign

Organized in 1968 by Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. 35th anniversary

Want to see your face at this
place, every color, every race.
