[July 24, 2004] PPEHRC ATTENDS 5th MESOAMERICAN FORO IN EL SALVADOR

The Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign was represented at the 5th Mesoamerican Foro (5th Central American Forum) by Bob Brown. The Foro was held July 19-21 in San Salvador, El Salvador. More than 1400 delegates registered and attended the Foro, representing people's organizations from all of the countries of Central America. Those registered and attending also included a small number of representatives from other countries in South America, North America, Africa, Europe and Asia. read more espanol

The PPEHRC announces a public meeting to plan for the participation of the poor and homeless from across the United States in next year's first United States Social Forum. The meeting will take place during the PPEHRC's week-long Bushville Tent City receeding the March for Our Lives. Wednesday August 25, at Bushville. Time and Location TBA.

Also, the PPEHRC issues a call for papers and ideas on ensuring the participation of the poor in in the US Social Forum, and on the key issues facing the poor in the United States. For more information or to send papers, please contact kwru@kwru.org.

La Campaña de los Pobres por los Derechos Humanos Económicos anuncia una reunión publica para planificar la participación de los pobres y los sin hogar de los EEUU en el Foro Social de Los Estados Unidos que tendrá lugar el año que viene. La reunión estará durante el Bushville Tent City campamento la semana antes de la Marcha Por Nuestras Vida. Tendrá lugar el Miércoles, 25 de Agosto en Bushville en NYC; lugar y hora específicos vienen pronto.
